School Learning Story

Our school's learning story demonstrates how our school community is working to improve learning and well-being for students. This ongoing commitment is driven by a continuous focus on enhancing student achievement and enriching students’ experiences at school. Our efforts are guided by district’s strategic plan and the Ministry of Education and Child Care’s Framework for Enhancing Student Learning policy. This is our collective learning journey, and reflects our shared commitment to growth, collaboration and continuous improvement in support of student success.

Our Focus

School Learning Focus for the 25/26 school year

We are strengthening student literacy across all subject areas by embedding disciplinary literacy strategies and engaging in collaborative work to enhance literacy in all our departments.

Evidence-Informed Rationale (WHY)

Literacy is foundational to student success across all disciplines. School-based evidence, including classroom observations, student work samples, and staff reflection, indicates variability in students’ ability to effectively access, interpret, and communicate their thinking across subject areas.

Student voice and departmental reflection highlight that students benefit when literacy strategies are explicitly taught within the context of each discipline.

This focus responds to the need for a more consistent, school-wide approach to literacy that supports engagement, comprehension, and communication for all learners.
