Belonging with the Land

As we continue our journey toward fostering belonging and connectedness, we want to highlight the importance of our relationship with the land we live on. This year, we’ve encouraged both students and staff to take time to connect with our environment and explore how we can better protect it.

During our recent student-led Conference Day, students engaged in discussions about our land and its significance, focusing on ways we can contribute to its preservation. The Ecolution experience not only deepened their understanding of environmental stewardship but also reinforced their sense of belonging within our community.

Additionally, our growing staff participated in a retreat organized by our professional development committee. This retreat centered around cultivating a sense of belonging to the Palmer community and fostering a deeper appreciation for the lands we inhabit. By coming together to reflect on our shared values and responsibilities, we strengthen our collective commitment to both our students and our environment.

These activities are integral to our ongoing efforts to promote belonging and connectedness, emphasizing that our relationships with each other and the land are interconnected. We look forward to seeing how these experiences will enrich our school community as we move forward together.
