Safety of Our Students During Pick Up and Drop Off - Important Reminders

To all our Palmer Community,
As the days grow darker, ensuring the safety of our students during pick-up times becomes even more crucial. We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to the following guidelines:
  1. Off-Peak Pickups: Whenever possible, try to schedule student pickups during off-peak times (3:15pm to 3:30pm) to reduce traffic congestion and enhance overall safety. If you must pick up during peak busy times (2:55pm to 3:10pm), we would ask that we all exercise patience and adhere to road safety guidelines.
Visibility Matters: As daylight decreases, visibility becomes a key concern. Please ensure your vehicle is well lit in the parking lot.
Carpooling Encouraged: Carpooling not only minimizes traffic but also promotes a safer environment. Coordinate with fellow parents to share responsibilities and reduce the number of vehicles during peak hours.
Pedestrian Caution: Remind your children to be cautious when crossing streets and to always use designated crosswalks. Encourage them to wear reflective clothing or carry a flashlight if they'll be walking during darker hours.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Zones: Follow the school's designated drop-off and pick-up zones to maintain a smooth flow of traffic. Avoid stopping in no-parking zones, as this can impede traffic and jeopardize safety.
By collectively prioritizing road safety, we can create a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to the well-being of our students and our school community.
Thank you,
Palmer Administration Team
