Connectedness to Culture: Revisiting Palmer Pride
We are excited to share with you an update on our ongoing journey towards fostering a stronger sense of connectedness within our school community. Over the past year, we have made significant progress in this area and we will continue to focus as we continue to grow as a school community.
This journey has been a collaborative effort, and we are proud of the strides we've made in bringing our school community closer together. Our commitment to connectedness has led to meaningful interactions, increased engagement, and a shared sense of purpose.
In the coming year, we will be embarking on a new phase of our journey, where we seek input from our valued staff and students to ensure that our school's collective values are understood and valued by all- Palmer Pride. With a growing school community, we've had many opportunities to collect some "street data"/feedback from our staff and students. A common theme has emerged i- there is not a clear understanding on what Palmer Pride is. This uncertainty is shared among students and staff. With this discovery, our school staff came together in late June 2023 - to form a school culture committee whose focus will be to start our journey in revisiting and updating Palmer Pride.
We believe that involving our staff and students in this process is crucial, as their perspectives and insights are instrumental in shaping the future of our school. Our hunch is that strengthening connectedness through a refocus on Palmer Pride, will increase student’s motivation with student learning.Together, we will refocus and revisit Palmer Pride with all members of our community. We are excited about the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in our journey.
