Lunch and Learn Presentation by the Student Voice Club

The Student Voice Club recently hosted an insightful Lunch and Learn presentation for 30 of our teachers. The focus of the session was a survey conducted by the club, which asked students, "What is one thing you wish teachers understood that could improve your learning experience and support your overall success as a student?"

The survey revealed several key themes that are crucial to enhancing the educational experience:

• Connection and Relationships: Students emphasized the importance of building strong, supportive relationships with their teachers.
• School-Life Balance: Balancing academic demands with personal life was highlighted as essential for student well-being.
• Pacing of Lessons and Instruction: Students expressed a need for lessons to be paced in a way that accommodates different learning speeds.
• Feedback on Tests: Suggestions for test preparation was shared including linking tests to content covered.
• Learning Environment and Instructions: A positive and clear learning environment, along with well-structured instructions, was seen as vital for effective learning.

The students did an outstanding job presenting their findings, and the teachers were highly engaged and impressed by the thoughtful effort. This presentation provided valuable insights and fostered a deeper understanding between students and teachers, paving the way for a more supportive and effective educational environment.
