Palmer Conference Day 1: What does Palmer Pride Look Like?
On Oct 17, our school held our newly, revamped first school wide conference day. For this school year, after hearing feedback from students and students around our previous school wide conference days- we focused on our learning on conference days in the morning blocks of the day- allowing the school community to spread the conference days over 6 days instead of the usual 3. Our main focus for this conference day was to revisit Palmer Pride and seek some student feedback on their understandings of Palmer Pride
It was an excellent opportunity for our school community to come together, share knowledge about Palmer Pride, and be inspired by our guest speaker, Dave Jonsson. It was a great presentation, and he did a wonderful job incorporating Palmer Pride.
Having chatted with some of the students- they really did enjoy Dave's journey of resilience.
We look forward in using student feedback to further our work with our school culture/community. We have attached the student input sheet on Palmer Pride as well some of the student feedback that we have received. As a concluding activity, students also had an opportunity to share their understanding of Palmer Pride through poster creation- we have attached some of them and have displayed around the school.
