The Japan Exchange Program at Palmer helps our students stay connected to friends at our sister school, Wakayama High School in Wakayama, Japan. We host a group of students and teachers from Wakayama as part of the school district Japan Exchange Program every other year. On alternating years, Palmer students get the opportunity to travel to Japan to visit Wakayama and go on a tour of the country. During the pandemic, we have maintained our connection through a pen pal program. This program helps us to honour the rich history of Japanese settlement in Richmond and to build community with our sister city, Wakayama.
