Data Driven Journey towards continuous improvement
Throughout the year, we collected much data from students. The data provides the Inquiry spiral that our school engages in towards continuous improvement. The data was collected and analyzed from a varietiy of sources including Minitry surveys, School based surveys around Equity and Inclusion and the MDI survey for Grade 8 students.
Each of the surveys provided our working committees a sense of our students feelings of belonging in our learning community. The data through these survey and various student focus groups, our working committee learned that although in genereral students feel safe and welcomed at Palmer, students yearned for greater sense of connectedness to their peers and teachers. Students also expressed a lack of empathy and undersatanding from staff around students' mental healt and the pressures they feel to achieve high standards.
This data fueled our work and focus. This included the "10 Days of Kindness" event and the Mental Health Dialogue. These events has further fueled the development our our school goals around Empathy, Excellence, and Equity. These are the 3 E's in our PRIDE at Palmer. Pride cubed.
