Traffic Safety during drop off and pick up at RC Palmer

Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority at RC Palmer Secondary. As we continue to strive for a secure learning environment, we kindly remind all parents and guardians about the importance of following traffic rules during drop-off and pick-up times.

Adhering to traffic regulations not only fosters a safe environment for our students but also sets a positive example for our young learners. Please consider the following guidelines:

  1. Use Designated Drop-off and Pick-up Areas: Utilize designated areas for dropping off and picking up students. These areas are designed to facilitate a smooth flow of traffic and ensure the safety of pedestrians. Parents are encouraged to drop off their children before peak morning traffic times.

Obey Speed Limits: Maintain a safe and legal speed limit within the school vicinity. Speeding poses a significant risk to pedestrians, especially children.

Avoid Double Parking: Double parking obstructs visibility and creates hazards for both pedestrians and drivers. Please park in designated areas to prevent traffic congestion. Please do not park on St. Albans for student pickup.

Exercise Patience and Courtesy: During peak drop-off and pick-up times, exercise patience and courtesy towards fellow parents, pedestrians, and school staff.

Stay Alert and Vigilant: Always remain vigilant for pedestrians, especially children crossing the road. Avoid distractions such as mobile phones while driving.

Buckle Up: Ensure all occupants in the vehicle are properly secured with seat belts or appropriate child safety restraints.

By adhering to these guidelines, we collectively contribute to the safety and well-being of our students and the entire school community. Let's work together to create a safe and nurturing environment for our children.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to student safety.
