  • There will be a Griffins that Give meeting at lunch today (r)
  • Please bring your money from your Jeans Day button sales.  Hours will be recorded today, so it is especially important that gr 9 Inc students attend the mtg to record their hours.  See you then.
  • Attention Grads, there will be an important meeting for all Grade 12s TOMORROW at the start of Silent Reading in the large gym. 
  • Attention Grade 12 students who have not been measured for their Valedictory gown: This is the last announcement requesting you come to the office to get measured or advise us if you will not be attending the Valedictory ceremony.   • Ultimate game vs McMath today as well as a tennis match vs McMath - good luck,
  • Reminder that the Badminton game vs Boyd is cancelled today but there is a practice from 3-5 in the small gym
  • Track and field there will be a brief meeting tomorrow at break! If you have or will be signing up for track the meeting is mandatory. Yes the meeting is mandatory! And yes write it down in your phone or agenda Track meeting Thursday at break!
  • FEES are due by Friday for badminton, ultimate and tennis!!!!!
  • Elementary school track meet May 23 – we are looking for volunteers from 7:30am-4 pm.  This is a Thursday – you will get 8 hours. Please see Mr. Leithman to sign up.
  • There will be a Senior Math Club meeting after school tomorrow in Ms. Wang’s room – see you all there.
  • There will be a Palmer Sun Run Team meeting at lunch TOMORROW in Room 202 (Ms. Zhao’s room) – all members that have signed up must attend, feel free to bring your lunch.  We will be discussing the details regarding our Sunday April 14th competition!
  • Attention Grade 8-12 Griffins. Are you interested in being recognized for your service and learning at Palmer? If so, go to the Palmer website under the student tab to awards. Here you will find the different levels of recognition we have for our Awards Ceremony in June and the forms for the Service and Performance Award. Please note, Service and Performance Award forms are due MAY 9, 2019.  
  • Are you currently a grade 10, 11 or 12 student interested in exploring a career in the trades?  Submit your Youth Train in Trades application as soon as possible.  These post-secondary trade programs offer dual credits for high school and university, and your program tuition is paid.  Applications are available in your counselling office!
  • Leadership students are working on a project to help homeless people receive proper nutrition.  In order to do this, we need your help!  We will be collecting money and gift card donations as well as food, clothing and anything else that may help.  We will be coming to your classes during reading.
  • This past Saturday, Palmer’s Grade 9 Math team competed at the 2019 Math Challengers Provincial Finals tournament held at UBC. At the end of the day, Palmer was the only Richmond school to have placed in the top ten, coming away with a 5th place finish overall out of 20 teams.  Kevin Yan had another great outing, earning an individual 8th place finish out of 100 Grade 9 students, and as well achieving a perfect score on the second round of the contest. Congratulations to Kevin as well as to the other team members Soma Inokuchi, Evan Chen, Erik To and Grade 8 student Josh Cham, who was moved up to Palmer’s provincial Grade 9 team. In addition, kudos and thank you to student assistant coaches Jonathan Cao, Christy Chan, Liang Liu, Frank Wang and Andrew Xie for all their hard work and effort helping to train the team, and for exhibiting their Palmer Pride as tournament volunteers.
